What is GET FIT!? Get Fit! is a ninety (90) day pilot program to test our Groovers Network (GNet) - motivational support teams created by you, and other tools we plan to implement in the future to help our members achieve overall wellness - mind, body, and soul.
What is the goal of GET FIT!? Our goal is to teach you how to keep things simple, create your own healthy and balanced meal plan, and find things you love that will help you achieve weight loss success and accomplish your health and fitness goals.
How can GET FIT! help you achieve your health and fitness goals? One of the biggest challenges people face when incorporating a diet and exercise program into their lives is sticking with it. There are no gimmicks or “diets” to follow. Our approach is to provide you with tools to make lifestyle changes, so you can become fit and healthy for a lifetime.
What are the tools GET FIT! will provide you?
- Social Support. The Groovers Network (GNet). You will have access to a motivating and
supportive network of individuals achieving similar goals. It is our belief social relationships can enhance exercise commitment, motivation, self-confidence, and enjoyment.
- Customizable exercise program. We will give you the building blocks of a well-rounded total
body dance fitness exercise program. You use these building blocks to design a program that matches your personality and lifestyle.
- Tips for healthier eating. There is no meal plan to follow or calories to count. We will teach you
how to make smarter food choices, and how to incorporate the foods you like into your diet. We will also offer healthy recipes to try.
- Greater knowledge of your body. We will educate you on your muscular system, metabolism,
and help you identify what works best for your body. Becoming conscious of what makes your system run its best and work its hardest is paramount in reaching your health and fitness goals.
- An empowering process. With GNet, you have your own cheering squad encouraging you to
do your best. Together we will set goals and create an action plan that will guide you to overall wellness. You have the power to be fit, healthy, and happy, and together we can make that happen!
How does GET FIT! work? GET FIT! consists of three components: 1) an exercise program, 2) motivational support teams, and 3) workshops.
- Exercise program. You are requested to exercise at least four (4) times, for a total of four (4)
hours per week. The exercise program includes total body dance fitness workouts developed by Groove, and other physical activities specified by you. Groove workouts incorporate dance styles such as hip-hop, ballet, jazz, modern, Latin, and African with traditional cardio, strength, and flexibility training exercises. These workouts should be performed at least two (2) times per week. The other two (2) times can be any moderate-intensity physical activity of your liking such as: salsa dancing, hiking, biking, swimming, walking, running, or additional Groove workouts.
- Groovers Network - Motivational Support Teams (MSTs). MSTs are created by you. The
teams are designed to help members stay motivated and focused on accomplishing their health and fitness goals. Teams have the ability to interact with their members as well as other teams' members online, and track their progress as well as other teams' progress. The purpose of the teams is to evoke friendly competition among members. Teams and members compete for prizes ranging up to one hundred dollars ($100) in value.
- Workshops. Workshops are held once a month where all MSTs meet to obtain a status update of
their progress and learn about various tools to help them achieve their health and fitness goals.
What is the cost of GET FIT!? Zero dollars! You do not have to pay any money. We want you to participate in the program without concern to cost. We are excited about what this program has to offer, and we hope your reward for participating is becoming healthier and fit.
Note: If you decide to take Groove workouts at the studio, you must pay fee(s) for the sessions. Workout videos will be provided to those who chose not to attend sessions at the studio.
GET FIT! Pilot Program Details:
- Approximately ninety (90) day program

- Attend GNet mixer
- Exercise a total of four (4) times per week
- Attend monthly evening workshops every 2nd Friday of the month
- Attend monthly team/GNet social outings
- Participate in weekly team meetings/check-ins (on-line or in-person)
- Maintain a daily food and exercise journal
- Participate in monthly weigh-ins, measurements, and before and after photographs
- Participate at least weekly in on-line networking group
